#6: Casablanca (1942)

Starring: Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman
Directed by: Michael Curitz

Plot: Classic film set in unoccupied Africa during the early days of World War II: An American expatriate meets a former lover, with unforeseen complications.

But is it any good?

Maybe I’m cold-hearted, I don’t know, but I felt strangely unmoved by Casablanca. Perhaps it was all the hype that dulled the actual process of seeing it. Sure, it’s funny, sentimental and has some long-lasting quotes. But it’s not in my top 10.

IMDb’s rating: 8.8/10
My rating: 7.5/10
